How To Do Capacity Planning

26:47
Most IT organizations tend to manage system performance in a reactionary fashion, analyzing and correcting performance problems as users report them. When problems occur, hopefully system administrators have tools necessary to quickly analyze and remedy the situation. In a perfect world, administrators prepare in advance in order to avoid performance bottlenecks altogether, using capacity planning tools to predict in advance how servers should be configured to adequately handle future workloads. Watch as capacity planning expert Jon Hill explains the 3 crucial steps of successful capacity planning. Hill then performs real world demonstrations that detail each step using TeamQuest Performance Software. If you're in the capacity management arena or just want to know more on how to efficiently manage IT infrastructure performance; this video is a must see.

Lecture 14: Oracle Block Buffer Cache || ORACLE DATABASE SERVER CONCEPT

24:35
What is Oracle Oracle database is a relational database management system. It is known as Oracle database, OracleDB or simply Oracle. It is produced and marketed by Oracle Corporation. Oracle database is the first database designed for enterprise grid computing. The enterprise grid computing provides the most flexible and cost effective way to manage information and applications. Different editions of Oracle database Following are the four editions of the Oracle database. Enterprise Edition: It is the most robust and secure edition. It offers all features, including superior performance and security. Standard Edition: It provides the base functionality for users that do not require Enterprise Edition's robust package. Express Edition (XE): It is the lightweight, free and limited Windows and Linux edition. Oracle Lite: It is designed for mobile devices. The Oracle Corporation Oracle Corporation is the largest software company in the field of database business. Its relational database was the first to support SQL which has since become the industry standard. Oracle database is one of the most trusted and widely used relational database engines. The biggest rival of Oracle database is Microsoft's SQL Server. History of Oracle Oracle was originally developed by Lawrence Ellison (Larry Ellision) and his two friends and former co-worker in 1977. Oracle DB runs on the most major platforms like Windows, UNIX, Linux and Mac OS.

Oracle DBA | Tasks Of An Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) | dba1-02 To See More DBA part-01 Tutorial Click here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXXvCMuixAJUO3yQq7-LLdfQb5HpsQKNg To See More DBA part-02 Tutorial Click here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXXvCMuixAJUviefN3-ZzKDVgbIH0RoaS To See More Reports Tutorial Click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_0f_iILlmY&list=PLXXvCMuixAJUfU4ZISmPtHrmKe5qRvyVY To See More Forms Tutorial Click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zsu4CWo_vwk&list=PLXXvCMuixAJU3Ap_FE2zSEBicv8IC5kDU Dear viewer, In this tutorial you will know about tasks of Database Administrator (DBA) Task 1: Evaluate the Database Server Hardware: Evaluate how Oracle Database and its applications can best use the available computer resources. This evaluation should reveal the following information:-How many disk drives are available to the Oracle products-How many, if any, dedicated tape drives are available to Oracle products-How much memory is available to the instances of Oracle Database you will run (see your system configuration documentation) Task 2: Install the Oracle Database Software: As the database administrator, you install the Oracle Database server software and any front-end tools and database applications that access the database. In some distributed processing installations, the database is controlled by a central computer (database server) and the database tools and applications are executed on remote computers (clients). In this case, you must also install the Oracle Net components necessary to connect the remote systems to the computer that executes Oracle Database. Task 3: Plan the Database: As the database administrator, you must plan: -The logical storage structure of the database -The overall database design -A backup strategy for the databaseConsider how the logical storage structure of the database will affect: -The performance of the computer running Oracle Database -The performance of the database during data access operations -The efficiency of backup and recovery procedures for the database Task 4: Creating, migrating, and opening the database: After you complete the database design, you can create the database and open it for normal use. You can create a database at installation time, using the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA), or you can supply your own scripts for creating a database. Task 5: Backup the Database : After you create the database structure, perform the backup strategy you planned for the database. Create any additional redo log files, take the first full database backup (online or offline), and schedule future database backups at regular intervals. Backup Strategy May Include: - Entire database (whole) - Portion of the database (partial) Whole database backup: Includes all data files and at least one control file (Remember that all control files in a database are identical.) Partial database backup: May include zero or more tablespaces and zero or more data files; may or may not include a control file. Backup Types (RMAN) - All data blocks within your chosen files (full) - Incremental - Cumulative - Differential Backup Mode May Be: - Offline (consistent, cold) - Online (inconsistent, hot) Offline backups (also known as “cold” or consistent backup): Are taken while the database is not open. They are consistent because, at the time of the backup, the system change number (SCN) in data file headers matches the SCN in the control files. Online backups (also known as “hot” or inconsistent backup): Are taken while the database is open. They are inconsistent because, with the database open, there is no guarantee that the data files are synchronized with the control files. Task 6: Enroll System Users Task 7: Implement the Database Design Task 8: Recovering from database failure Task 9: Monitoring Database Performance Task 10: Download and Install Patches Task 11: Roll Out to Additional Hosts To Get more Tutorial Subscribe The Channel click here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?sub_confirmation=1 To Get All Post Like The Facebook Page Click here https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Follow us: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/oracledbsolutions Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ3ea4zVCfnKBx1_7h8raGQ?view_as=subscriber Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/465557066961548 Contact us: email: [email protected] Skype: oracle26solutions Mob: 01734557080, 01627422780

Redo & Undo Concept in Oracle Database

14:37
Here I have explained the redo and undo concepts. Below are the observations 1. Datafiles may contain uncommitted data (buffers dirtied by uncommitted transaction and checkpoint takes place) 2. Committed data may not be there in data files (Checkpointing not done after commit) 3. Redo/undo for committed changes will always be there in redo logs (Lgwr writes on commit). 4. redo/undo for Uncommitted changes may be there in redo logs(Lgwr writes every 3 seconds) 5. In addition to redo logs, undo information a) may be present in the buffer cache (checkpoint has not taken place after the change) b) will be written to undo tablespace on checkpoint
